JAMIE CARR is a performer, choreographer, teacher, and action photographer. With a strong background in classical ballet, Jamie graduated Magna Cum Laude with BFA in dance from California State University Long Beach where she immersed herself into the world of somatics and contemporary. She has trained and performed with several high-profile national/international artists such as Sidra Bell, Alex Ketley, and David Hernandez.
While at school, Jamie was introduced to Release technique, the Gaga movement language, and Countertechnique which has significantly informed her artistic voice. An investigative approach to her choreography allows the movement to expand her physical and artistic boundaries.
Jamie establishes an authentic connection with her audience in order to erase the labels associated with performing. She believes this type of connection allows a holistic approach to art making and cognitive rational which feeds her hunger for information.
